5.50.010 - Legislative intent.¶
Current sections of the Penal Code permit a county to receive state aid to fund public safety dispatcher programs. In order to be eligible for this assistance a county must agree to be bound by Sections 13500, et seq., of the Penal Code relating to the standards and training of local law enforcement officers. It is the desire of the county of Los Angeles to be eligible to receive this state funding, and it thereby expressly agrees to be bound by Sections 13500, et seq., of the Penal Code.

5.50.020 - Adherence to California Commission Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) standards.¶
The sheriff's department, the marshal's department and the district attorney's office will adhere to standards for recruitment and training established by the Commission on P.O.S.T. pursuant to Penal Code Section 13500, et seq.

5.50.030 - P.O.S.T. inquiries.¶
Pursuant to Penal Code Section 13512, the Commission and its representatives may make such inquiries as deemed appropriate by the Commission to ascertain that the public safety dispatcher personnel of the sheriff's department, the marshal's department and the district attorney's office adhere to standards for selection and training established by the Commission on P.O.S.T.
