Lomita Municipal Code Ch. 16 Community Development Commission

The city council of the City of Lomita does hereby find, determine and declare, as follows:

(a) That there is a need for the Lomita Community Development Commission to function within the City of Lomita; and

(b) That the Lomita Community Development Commission shall function as a redevelopment agency and shall have all of the powers, duties and responsibilities of such an agency; and

(c) That the public interest, convenience and necessity require the enactment of this ordinance for the purpose of implementing development within the city in the manner prescribed by law.

On and after the effective date of this chapter the Lomita Community Development Commission shall be authorized to transact business and exercise powers pursuant to Section 34100 et seq., of the Health and Safety Code of the State of California.

Pursuant to Section 34120 et seq., of the Health and Safety Code, the city council of the City of Lomita does hereby declare itself to be the commission and shall exercise all of the rights, powers, duties, privileges and immunities vested in the commission pursuant to Section 34100 et seq., of the Health and Safety Code and other applicable law.
