12.36.010 - Purpose.¶
In order to promote the convenience, safety and general welfare of the people of the county of Kern, state of California, there is established an official plan for unincorporated area coordinated areawide street addressing and street naming systems in the county of Kern.

12.36.020 - System delineation.¶
Boundaries of various areawide numbering systems shall be established by the board of supervisors upon recommendation by the planning director. The boundaries of such systems shall be delineated on a county-wide Official House Numbering Base Map, which defines and identifies such areawide systems, and said map shall be progressively adopted by the board of supervisors as part of this chapter as each areawide system is developed.

12.36.030 - Metropolitan areas outside incorporated cities.¶
Metropolitan areas not within an incorporated city may be assigned street addresses and street names which need not relate to the county areawide system but which relate to a system within an adjacent incorporated city, subject to the approval of the planning director.
