12.08.010 - Authority

This chapter is enacted pursuant to the powers given to a board of supervisors by Section 1020 of the Streets and Highways Code of California, and the road district or districts provided for in this chapter are subject to all provisions of Chapter 4 of Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code concerning such districts.

12.08.020 - Finding—Creation of district.

A. Determination by Board. It is found and determined by the board of supervisors of the county that public convenience and necessity render it suitable to create one (1) road district out of all the unincorporated territory of the county.

B. District Created. All of the unincorporated territory and area of the county is constituted to be one (1) road district.

12.08.030 - Administration—General policy.

The director of the county shall:

A. Take charge of the county highways in such road district;

B. Keep them in good repair and free from obstructions;

C. Employ all men, teams and equipment necessary to do all highway work other than that let by contract;

D. Grade all banks, construct necessary bridges and causeways, and keep such banks, bridges and causeways in good repair and renew them when they are destroyed; and

E. Perform all other duties and execute such other powers as are required or given to him by law and by ordinance and orders of the board of supervisors of the county.
