Imperial County Municipal Code Ch. 10.08 Speed Zones

Pursuant to Vehicle Code Sections 22357 and 22358, the county of Imperial has determined to increase speed limits above twenty-five (25) miles per hour upon certain streets otherwise subject to a prima facie limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour and to decrease to below fifty-five (55) miles per hour portions of streets to which the limit of fifty-five (55) miles per hour is otherwise applicable.

County roads and highways designated under this chapter for prima facie speed limits shall be indexed numerically according to geographical location as follows:

It is determined that the prima facie speed limits for the portions of the county roads and highways hereinafter described allowing for orderly movement of traffic and reasonable and safe travel are as set forth opposite roads and highways.

A. The road commissioner of the county of Imperial shall erect appropriate signs on or in the vicinity of the areas above described in conformance with Section 21403 of the Vehicle Code of the state of California, giving notice of the prima facie speed limits established by this chapter.

B. From and after the placement of the signs, the prima facie speed limits above indicated shall be in full force and effect.
