17.08.010 Generally.

The boundaries of the districts designated and established by Sections 17.10.010 and 17.10.020 are as shown on that certain map entitled “ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF FOSTER CITY” dated May 15, 1972, as it may be amended from time to time, incorporated herein and made a part of this title by reference as if fully set forth in this title and which map is on file in the office of the city clerk and to which reference is made for full particulars as to the location of the areas shown within the districts. The districts shown are declared to be subject to the regulations pertaining to such designated districts as the regulations are set forth in this title. No person shall use any land, building, or structure, nor shall any building or structure be erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, moved or used in any district shown on the zoning map, except in accordance with the regulations established by this title. 17.08.020 District boundaries—Determination.

Where the exact boundaries of a district cannot be readily or exactly ascertained by reference to the zoning map of the city, the boundary shall be deemed to be along the nearest street or lot line, as the case may be. If a district boundary line divides or splits a lot, the lot shall be deemed to be included within the district which is the more restrictive. The provisions of this section shall not apply to acreage. (Ord. 38 § 1 (part), 1972: prior code § 10-403.040)

17.08.030 District boundaries—Amendment.

Changes in the boundaries of districts shall be made by ordinance in the manner provided in Chapter 17.74, said ordinance describing the area to be changed either by tract, lot and neighborhood number, by parcel number and recorded map data or by metes and bounds. After adoption of any ordinance changing any boundaries of any district, the city clerk shall mark the aforementioned zoning map to show the number and date of the adoption of the ordinance making such change. 17.08.040 Classification of newly-annexed land.

All lands now or hereafter included within the boundaries of the city which are not designated on the aforementioned zoning map as being included in any other district, and any lands which have not been prezoned, are and shall be designated as “OSC.” Until such land is classified into one or more other districts provided in this title, the planning commission may grant use permits for uses conforming to the official general plan of the city. Conditions of the use permit shall include yard, height, lot area, parking requirements of the zoning district herein most closely conforming to the general plan.
