15.40.010 - Inhalation—Drinking certain substances.

No person shall inhale, breathe, drink or use in any manner any product or substance which contains an organic solvent with the intent of becoming intoxicated, elated, dazed, paralyzed or irrational, or of distorting or disturbing the eyesight, thinking process, balance or coordination or of affecting the central nervous system.

15.40.020 - Furnishing certain substances for inhalation or drinking.

No person shall sell, furnish, give or cause to be sold, furnished or given any product or substance containing an organic solvent to any person for the purpose of inducing or aiding the latter to inhale, breathe, drink or use such product or substance in violation of this chapter.

15.40.030 - Organic solvent defined.

"Organic solvent" includes, but is not limited to, amyl acetate, tri-chlor, ethylene, acetone or other chemically related compounds used to manufacture products commonly referred to as "glue", "adhesive cement", "mucilage" or "dope".

15.40.040 - Chapter not to apply to prescriptions.

The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to any person who inhales, breathes, drinks or otherwise uses an organic solvent product or substance pursuant to the direction or prescription of any doctor, physician, surgeon, dentist or other person authorized by law to so direct and prescribe use of an organic solvent product or substance.
