7-3 GEOLOGIC HAZARD ABATEMENT DISTRICTS.

7-3.1 Purpose.

A geologic hazard abatement district may be formed in the Town for the purpose of prevention, mitigation, abatement or control of a geologic hazard. A district may be formed under the authority of Division 17 of the Public Resources Code (Section 26500 and following) and this section. (Ord.#83, §7-601)

7-3.2 Declaration.

The Town Council declares that:

a. The Town is subject to the provisions of Division 17 of the Public Resources Code and the Town will forward a copy of this section to the State Controller before the effective date of the section, as required by Public Resources Code Section 26500; and

b. Chapter 2.5 of Division 17 of the Public Resources Code, permitting emergency formation of a geologic hazard abatement district is applicable in the Town.
