Daly City Municipal Code Ch. 16.04 Definitions

For the purpose of this title, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:

A. "Block" means an area of land within a subdivision which area is entirely bounded by streets, highways or ways, except alleys, or the exterior boundaries of the subdivision.

B. "Condominium" means a condominium as defined in section 783 of the Civil Code of the State of California.

C. "Cul-de-sac" means a street open at one end only, and providing at the other end special facilities or areas for the turning around of vehicular traffic.

D. "Lot" means a parcel or portion of land separated from other parcels or portions of land by description, as on a subdivision of record or survey map for purpose of sale, lease, financing or separate use, now or in the future.

E. "Map act" means that certain legislative enactment of the state found in Section 66410 of the Government Code of the state and sections following thereafter.

F. "Residential" means any development which is comprised solely of single-family or multi-family dwelling units or any combination thereof, which is in conformance with the requirements set forth in the R-1, R-1/A, R-2, R-3, R-4 zoning district classification or any residential P.D.

G. "Subdivision map act." See "Map Act."

H. "Vesting tentative map" means a map for a residential subdivision in which a vested right is conferred to the applicant to proceed with development in substantial compliance with the ordinances, policies and standards in effect at the time the vesting tentative map is approved or conditionally approved.
