9.88.010 - Permit—Required.¶
No person shall fire, shoot or discharge any gun, rifle, pistol or other firearm, or any air gun, air rifle or air pistol or any springgun, spring rifle or spring pistol or any carbon dioxide or other gas operated gun, rifle, or pistol without first obtaining a written permit from the chief of police.

9.88.020 - Permit—Issuance—Contents.¶
The chief of police shall have the power to issue to any person who, in the judgment of the chief of police, shall have such privilege a written permit to carry concealed any of the weapons specified in Section 9.84.010. Such permit shall be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are issued. No permit shall be granted for a longer period than twelve months. Each permit shall state the name, address and occupation of the person to whom the same is issued, and the date of its expiration and shall specify the kind and description of weapon authorized to be carried concealed by such person.

9.88.030 - Permit—Fee.¶
No permit required by Section 9.84.010 shall be issued to any person until such person shall have paid to the chief of police a registration fee as indicated by the comprehensive fee schedule resolution. On Monday of each week, the police department shall pay to the city treasurer all such permit fees received during the preceding week.

9.88.040 - Permit—Recordkeeping.¶
The police department shall keep a record of all permits authorized by the chief of police under this division.

9.88.050 - Tear gas permits.¶
The chief of police shall issue permits for carrying tear gas; provided that all of the requirements of state law have been satisfied. In that connection, the chief of police shall charge a fee for issuing the permit in that amount specified in the comprehensive fee schedule of the city. Additionally, the chief of police shall fingerprint citizens at their request and charge the fee prescribed in the comprehensive fee schedule codified in Appendix I of this code.
