31-40 - Local task force formation.¶
The local task force is a mandated committee formed by the board on March 27, 1990, Minute Order 90-133, in accordance with the California Integrated Waste Management Act of 1989 (AB939) and Section 25135.2 of the Health and Safety Code. The local task force consists of the following members:
(a) Industry representatives appointed by the cities and town;
(b) City appointees from each city and town jurisdiction;
(c) Members of the public appointed by the board; and
(d) Members of the public appointed by the cities and town.
The local task force shall elect a chair and vice-chair from among its members and shall appoint such other officers as it deems necessary.

31-41 - Purpose.¶
The purpose of the local task force shall be to recommend to the Board of Supervisors proposed amendments, additions and deletions to this chapter and to study federal, state and local laws and regulations relating to solid waste collection, its management, and recycling. The local task force shall develop goals, policies, and procedures which are consistent with guidelines and regulations adopted pursuant to the California Integrated Waste Management Act, and shall guide development of the siting element of the countywide integrated waste management plan.
