2.40.010 - Purpose of provisions.

The purpose of this chapter is to empower the code enforcement officer of the city of Big Bear Lake, and any code enforcement technician appointed by the department of community development, to enforce land use violations and sign violations, to issue notices to appear, and to release such persons as provided by Chapter 5(c) of the California Penal Code, commencing at Penal Code Section 853.6.

2.40.020 - Powers.

The code enforcement officer of the city of Big Bear Lake and any code enforcement technician shall have the powers of citation and release, and all other powers incidental to Section 836.5 of the Penal Code of the state of California, and the protections set forth in subdivision B of said section. 2.40.030 - Authority for citation.

Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 2.40.010 of this chapter, any appointed and duly acting code enforcement officer shall be authorized to cite for any violation of the municipal code.

2.40.031 - Qualifications—Appointment.

"Code enforcement officer," as used in this chapter, means any employee of the city who shall hold a certificate of completion of police officer standard of training certificate, and shall be appointed to such duties either generally or specially by the city manager.
