2.08.010 - Meetings held without further notice.

Regular meetings of the city council shall be held on the second Wednesday of each month at three p.m. for purposes of conducting a closed session, or such later time as set forth on an agenda posted for the city council meeting in accordance with the Ralph M. Brown Act, and five p.m. for purposes of conducting an open session, or such later time as set forth on an agenda posted in accordance with the Ralph M. Brown Act; unless the Wednesday is on a city-observed holiday, in which event such regular meeting shall be canceled, or adjourned to an alternate date and noticed in accordance with law.

2.08.020 - Meeting place.

The regular meeting of November 25, 1987, of the city council shall be held at 39707 Big Bear Boulevard, Big Bear Lake, and until further notice shall be the regular meeting place of the city council.

2.08.030 - Adoption of Rules of Order.

The Rules of Order governing procedure at each city council meeting shall be as set forth by resolution of the city council, as amended from time to time.

2.08.040 - City council vacancies.

In the event of a vacancy on the city council, the city council may fill such vacancy by any option allowed by law including, but not limited to, the following options:

A. By appointment of a person residing within the district constituting the vacancy, provided that the city council makes an appointment within sixty (60) days from the commencement of the vacancy and in which case one of the following shall apply:

  1. If the vacancy occurs in the first half of a term of office and there are at least (130) days left until the next general municipal election, the appointee holds office until the next general municipal election and thereafter until the person elected to fill the vacancy has been qualified; or

  2. If the vacancy occurs in the first half of a term of office and there are less than one hundred thirty (130) days left until the next general municipal election, or if the vacancy occurs in the second half of a term of office, the appointee holds office for the unexpired term of the former incumbent; or

B. By a special election within the district in which the vacancy occurs, to be held on the next regularly established election date not less than one hundred fourteen (114) days from the call of the special election. A person elected to fill a vacancy holds office for the unexpired term of the former incumbent.
