Sec. 74-176. - Sign placement authority.

Whenever any city ordinance or resolution designates and describes any street or portion thereof as a through street or any intersection at which vehicles are required to stop at one or more entrances thereto or any railroad grade crossing at which vehicles are required to stop, the city engineer shall erect and maintain a stop sign on each and every street intersecting such through street or portion thereof so designated and at those entrances of other intersections where a stop is required and at every railroad grade crossing so designated. Every such sign shall conform with and shall be placed as provided in state Vehicle Code §§ 21352, 21354 and 21355.

Sec. 74-177. - Required at through streets, stop signs.

(a) Those streets and parts of streets described in section 74-179 are declared to be through streets for the purposes of this division.

(b) This section shall also apply at the entrances to the intersections designated by council resolution as authorized by section 74-146.

Sec. 74-178. - Emerging from alley or driveway.

The driver of a vehicle emerging from an alley, driveway or building shall stop such vehicle immediately prior to driving onto a sidewalk or onto the sidewalk area extending across any such drive or alleyway.

Sec. 74-179. - Through streets designated.

In accordance with section 74-177 and when signs are erected giving notice thereof, drivers of vehicles shall stop at each entrance to or intersection with those streets described as follows:

Azusa Avenue, from the north city limits (Sierra Madre Avenue) to the south city limits.

Cerritos Avenue, that portion which is within the city.

Citrus Avenue, that portion which is within the city.

Crescent Drive, from Angeleno Avenue to Vernon Avenue.

Fenimore Avenue, from Haltern Street to First Street.

Foothill Boulevard, from the west city limits to the east city limits.

Gladstone Street, that portion which is within the city.

Irwindale Avenue, from Gladstone Street to First Street.

Paramount Street, from Vernon Avenue to Azusa Avenue.

San Gabriel Avenue, from First Street to 11th Street.

San Gabriel Avenue, from 11th Street to San Gabriel Canyon Road.

Sierra Madre Avenue, from the east city limits to the westerly terminus thereof.

Vernon Avenue, from Foothill Boulevard to Sierra Madre Avenue.

Vernon Avenue, from Fourth Street to the south city limits.

Virginia Avenue, from Fourth Street to Foothill Boulevard.

First Street, that portion which is within the city.

Fifth Street, from Cerritos Avenue to Virginia Avenue.

Ninth Street, from Pasadena Avenue to Angeleno Avenue.

11th Street, from Pasadena Avenue on the east to the westerly end of 11th Street.
