Sec. 74-366. - Crosswalk; establishment.¶
The city engineer shall establish, designate and maintain crosswalks at intersections and other places by appropriate devices, marks or lines upon the surface of the roadway as follows:
(1) Crosswalks may be established and maintained at intersections and at other places where the city engineer determines that there is particular hazard to pedestrians crossing the roadway subject to the limitations contained in subsection (2) of this section.
(2) Other than crosswalks at intersections no crosswalk shall be established in any block which is less than 400 feet in length. Elsewhere not more than one additional crosswalk shall be established in any one block and such crosswalk shall be located as nearly as practicable at midblock.

Sec. 74-367. - Use of established crosswalks required.¶
No pedestrian shall cross a roadway other than by a crosswalk in any business district.

Sec. 74-368. - Jaywalking prohibited.¶
No pedestrian shall cross a roadway at any place other than by a route at right angles to the curb or by the shortest route to the opposite curb except in a marked crosswalk.

Sec. 74-369. - Standing in roadways.¶
No person shall stand in any roadway other than in a safety zone or space where streetcars normally stop in the absence of a safety zone and then only for the immediate purpose of entering or leaving any streetcar. This provision shall not apply to any public officer or employee, or employee of a public utility, or other worker, when necessarily upon a street in the line of duty.

Sec. 74-370. - Loading and unloading of juvenile passengers.¶
(a) No operator of a motor vehicle shall stop or park to load or unload juvenile passengers where such loading or unloading is in a location that would cause the juvenile to use any portion of the roadway, including, but not limited to, crossing the street unattended without a crosswalk or signal:
(1) Where such loading or unloading is prohibited by signage;
(2) In an intersection, commercial driveway, or traffic lane;
(3) In a manner that places passengers in a hazardous situation, including, but not limited to beckoning a juvenile to cross the street other than in a crosswalk.
(b) Notwithstanding the above, subsection (a) shall not apply when the operator is directed to stop or park and passengers are directed to load or unload at the direction of a peace officer.
(c) As used in this section, "juvenile" means a child 17 years of age or younger.
