10.70.010 - Terminal defined.¶
"Terminal" as used in this chapter means a facility at which freight is consolidated to be shipped and where full-load consignments may be off-loaded, or at which the vehicle combinations are regularly maintained, stored or manufactured.

10.70.020 - Applications for route clearance and signing.¶
Owners or operators of terminal sites requesting route clearance and signing pursuant to the provisions of Section 35401.5 of the California Vehicle Code, shall submit an application to the director of public works of the city of Yreka. Said applications shall include the following:
(1) Name, title and address of the applicant;
(2) Location of the terminal;
(3) The preferred route and alternate routes, if available;
(4) Evidence that the terminal meets established criteria developed by the California Department of Transportation;
(5) Evidence that the terminal entries, exits and parking are adequate for the purposes intended;
(6) Such further information as may be required by the director of public works so as to establish that the route or routes are adequate to accommodate the vehicle combinations.

10.70.030 - Approval of application.¶
Upon approval of the application by the director of public works, the director of public works shall submit the same to the California Department of Transportation for review, approval and concurrence. If the requested route or alternate routes are determined not to be acceptable, the applicant shall be notified of the reasons therefor and the modifications, if any, necessary to make the route acceptable. When such application has been approved by the city and the Department of Transportation, the signing of such route or routes by the appropriate agency shall be necessary only to indicate those routes which may be used as terminal connection routes.

10.70.040 - Exemptions.¶
The provisions of this chapter do not apply to licensed carriers of household goods when directly en route to or from a point of loading or unloading of household goods, if travel on highways other than those approved is necessary' and incidental to the shipment of household goods.
