§ 10.56.010. Driving through, etc., crossing gates.¶
No person shall drive any vehicle through, around, or under any crossing gate or barrier at a railroad grade crossing while such gate or barrier is closed or is being opened or closed.

§ 10.56.020. Trains not to block crossings.¶
No person shall cause or permit any railway train or railway car or similar vehicle on rails to stop or stand or to be operated in such a manner as to prevent the use of any street for the purposes of travel for a period of time longer than 10 minutes, except that this provision shall not apply to railway trains, cars or similar vehicles on rails while blocking or obstructing a crossing because of an accident which requires the operator of the train, car or similar vehicle on rails to stop at or near the scene of the accident.

§ 10.56.030. Warning signals required.¶
The operator of any train or car herein referred to is permitted and required also to give warning of the approach thereof to any of the streets specifically named in Section 10.56.040, by sounding a bell, whistle, horn or hooter; and at other such intersections within the city such whistle, horn or hooter may be sounded as the occasion may require or appear proper or necessary; provided, that the sounding of such whistles, horns or hooters shall be kept within reasonable bounds and shall not be utilized so as to constitute an unnecessary or uncalled for use thereof or to constitute a nuisance.

§ 10.56.040. Speed of trains at certain places.¶
The provisions of Section 10.56.050 shall be paramount and controlling, save that in no instance may any such train or car be operated over or across a public highway or intersection of any such tracks with a public street at a greater speed than 20 miles an hour; and also, that the speed of any such trains or cars is further restricted and limited in that it is unlawful to operate any such train or cars across or over the following named streets in this city at a greater speed than 10 miles an hour, namely: Euclid Avenue, First, Second and Third Avenues, and that the speed of any such trains or cars between the westerly boundary of Euclid Avenue and the easterly boundary of Third Avenue shall be and hereby is limited and restricted to 10 miles an hour.

§ 10.56.050. Speed of trains at certain places—Generally.¶
No person shall operate any steam, electric or other train or car, this section referring to such trains or cars that are operated upon fixed rails or tracks as common carriers, through or within the city at a greater rate of speed than is reasonable and proper under the circumstances at any particular point therein having due regard to visibility, blind crossings or intersections and the like.
