315-010 - PURPOSE¶
This Chapter is to provide for the working of prisoners confined in the County Jail under judgment of conviction of misdemeanors, or under a final judgment of imprisonment rendered in a criminal action or proceeding, under the direction of the Sheriff of the County of Sutter, or a responsible person appointed and deputized by the Sheriff of the County of Sutter.

315-020 - WORKING OF PRISONERS ON PUBLIC ROAD, ETC.¶
Said person when appointed and deputized by the Sheriff of the County of Sutter shall work the prisoners upon the public grounds, roads, streets, alleys, highways or public buildings or on the public works or ways in the County of Sutter, or in such other places as are deemed advisable for the benefit of the County of Sutter.

315-040 - DISCRETION OF SHERIFF¶
It is within the discretion of the Sheriff of the County of Sutter which prisoners confined in the County Jail shall be permitted to work pursuant to the terms of this Chapter.

315-050 - WORKING DAYS-SPECIFIED¶
The working days for prisoners, pursuant to this Chapter, may be specified by the Sheriff.

315-060 - HOURS OF WORK¶
The hours of work per day for prisoners shall be designated by the Sheriff.
Notwithstanding any other provisions of law, the Sheriff may require that any person committed to county jail for a period of six days or less perform ten hours of labor on the public works or ways in lieu of one day of confinement pursuant to Penal Code Section 4024.2. This subparagraph shall be of no effect after December 31, 1984.

315-080 - TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT-TRANSPORTATION¶
The public agency receiving the benefit of services of prisoners pursuant to the terms of this Chapter, shall supply all necessary tools and equipment for said prisoners and shall further provide the necessary transportation for said prisoners to and from the county jail save and except in cases of emergency the Sheriff may provide the transportation, or in event any department of the county has no facilities for such transportation, the Sheriff may provide such transportation at his discretion.

315-090 - CREDIT FOR TIME WORKED¶
Any prisoner who works as provided in this Chapter may, at the sole discretion of the Sheriff of the County of Sutter, be given credit on his sentence at the rate of one day for each day worked.
