Chapter 10.52 — PEDESTRIANS AND CROSSWALKS

§ 10.52.010. Crosswalks—Establishment.

The city traffic engineer shall establish, designate and maintain crosswalks at intersections and other places by appropriate devices, marks or lines upon the surface of streets. (Prior code § 3-1.48; Ord. 2524-95 § 1)

§ 10.52.030. Signs.

The city traffic engineer may place signs on any roadway prohibiting pedestrians from crossing the roadway in violation of the posted signs. (Prior code § 3-1.50; Ord. 2480-94 § 1)

§ 10.52.040. Obedience to signs.

It is unlawful for any pedestrian to cross a roadway in violation of any sign posted by the city. (Prior code § 3-1.51; Ord. 2480-94 § 2)

§ 10.52.050. Pedestrians—Crossing at right angles.

It is unlawful for any pedestrian to cross a roadway at any place other than by a route at right angles to the curb or by the shortest route to the opposite curb except in a marked crosswalk. (Prior code § 3-1.52; Ord. 2524-95 § 1)

§ 10.52.070. Pedestrians—Standing in sidewalks.

Pedestrians standing on a sidewalk may not impede the flow of pedestrian traffic at any place in commercially zoned are as. (Prior code § 3-1.54; Ord. 2524-95 § 1; Ord. 2721 § 5, 2003)
