§ 2.04.010. Meeting place.¶
All regular council meetings shall be held in the city council chambers located in the City Hall at 7800 Katella Avenue, in the city at the time and date to be established by resolution of the city council.

§ 2.04.030. Misconduct.¶
Any member of the city council, or other person, using profane, vulgar or boisterous language at any meeting, or otherwise interrupting the proceedings, or who refuses to be seated, or to cease his remarks when ordered so to do by the mayor or mayor pro tem, is guilty of a misdemeanor and punishable by a fine of not to exceed one hundred dollars or by imprisonment in the city or county jail for a period not exceeding ten days, or both such fine or imprisonment.

§ 2.04.050. Councilmember salaries.¶
Each member of the council of the city of Stanton shall receive, as salary, the sum of eight hundred ten dollars and ninety cents per month. Effective January 1, 2009, each member of the council of the city of Stanton shall receive, as salary, the sum of eight hundred fifty dollars per month.

§ 2.04.060. General municipal elections.¶
A general municipal election shall be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each evennumbered year, or such other date of regular statewide general elections as state law may provide. The municipal election shall be consolidated with statewide general elections.

§ 2.04.070. Mayor and city council—Two-term lifetime limits.¶
A. A person is ineligible to hold office as a member of the city council if such person has subsequent to December 31, 2015 served on the city council for two full terms. A person is ineligible to hold office as mayor if such person has subsequent to November 4, 2024, served as mayor for two full terms.
B. For purposes of this section, "full term" shall mean the following:
A full four-year term of mayoral or council service for which a person was formally nominated or nominated as a write-in candidate, and to which he or she was elected to office at a municipal general election; or
A full four-year term of mayoral or council service for which a person was formally nominated or nominated as a write-in candidate, and to which he or she was appointed in lieu of a municipal general election scheduled to occur, pursuant to California Elections Code § 10229.
C. For purposes of this section, "full term" shall not mean a time of service less than a full four-year term to which a person has been specially elected or appointed to the office of mayor or city council to fill a mid-term vacancy, pursuant to California Government Code §§ 34902(b) or 36512(b), and any city ordinances consistent with such law.

§ 2.04.080. Voting districts established.¶
At the expiration of the current terms of office of members of the city council, city council members shall be elected by four city council districts, the boundaries of which shall be adopted by resolution and the office of mayor shall be directly elected.

§ 2.04.090. Eligibility to hold office.¶
A. A person is not eligible to hold office as a city council member unless he or she resides within the designated district boundary.
B. Persons signing nomination petitions or voting for a city council member shall be registered to vote in the district from which the council member is to be elected.

§ 2.04.100. Adjusting council district boundaries.¶
A. The city council shall adjust district boundaries when required by law and at such other times as deemed appropriate by the city council. Such proceedings shall be conducted and the district boundaries adjusted in compliance with all legal criteria and such other standards as might be adopted by the city council.
B. Before adjusting the boundaries of a district, the council shall hold at least one public hearing on the proposal to adjust the boundaries of the district.

§ 2.04.110. Effect of establishment or change in district boundaries.¶
The term of office of any member of the city council shall not be affected by the establishment of or change in boundaries of any district.
