§ 10.28.010. Premises defined.

As used in this chapter, "premises" means any area provided, available or used for parking on any property commercially zoned or used which is generally open to the public and any publicly owned parking lot.

§ 10.28.020. Vehicles for sale.

No person shall enter any premises in a motor vehicle of any description and park said vehicle with a "for sale" sign upon it at any time. This section shall not apply to legally licensed auto sales locations.

§ 10.28.030. Parking and leaving vehicle prohibited.

No person shall enter any premises in a motor vehicle of any description, park the vehicle and leave the premises, without obtaining the written consent of the permittee or owner of the premises.

§ 10.28.031. Repairing of vehicles on premises.

A. A person shall not repair, or make any repairs, or add or install any part or accessory to or on, or change or add any fluids to any vehicle while the same is within the premises.

B. The provisions of this section do not prohibit the operator of any vehicle which is disabled, to such extent that it is impossible to avoid making or causing to be made the repairs necessary to enable such vehicle to move from the premises.

§ 10.28.040. Signs permitted.

Persons owning, operating, managing or conducting business upon such premises may, but shall not be required to, place signs upon the premises giving notice of the provisions of Sections 10.28.010 through 10.28.030. Enforcement of such sections shall not be dependent upon the placement of any such signs.

§ 10.28.050. Infractions—Violations and penalty.

Any persons violating or failing to comply with any of the provisions of Sections 10.28.010 through 10.28.030 shall be deemed guilty of any infraction and shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars for a first violation; a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars for a second violation of the same provision within one year; and fine not exceeding five hundred dollars for each additional violation of the same provision within one year.

§ 10.28.060. Parking restrictions—Enforcement in privately owned lots.

City code enforcement officers, parking enforcement officer and law enforcement officers may enforce parking restrictions in privately owned parking lots pursuant to Section 22658(a)(1) of the California Vehicle Code (1999) or as subsequently amended by the California State Legislature.
