§ 10.08.010. Truck routes established.

No person may operate any commercial vehicle, laden or unladen, exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of six thousand pounds except on the following streets or portions of streets:

A. Garvey Avenue between the westerly city boundary and Potrero Avenue;

B. Rush Street between Rosemead Boulevard and Durfee Avenue;

C. All of Peck Road;

D. All of Santa Anita Avenue;

E. All of Tyler Avenue;

F. Durfee Avenue from Peck Road to the westerly city limits and from Slack Road to the northerly city limits.

§ 10.08.020. Signs to be posted.

The traffic engineer is authorized and directed to designate the streets and parts of streets by appropriate signs at each end of the streets or portions of the streets described in Section 10.08.010, and at such other locations as he or she may deem advisable in order to give adequate notice specifying the streets or portions of the streets as truck routes.

§ 10.08.030. Exceptions.

The provisions of this section shall not prohibit any commercial vehicle coming from an unrestricted street having ingress and egress by the most direct route to and from such restricted streets when necessary for the purpose of making pick-ups or deliveries of goods, wares or merchandise from or to any building or structure located on such restricted streets or for the purpose of delivering materials to be used in the actual and bona fide repair, alteration, remodeling or construction of any building or structure or upon such restricted street for which a building permit has previously been issued. The provisions of this section shall not apply to:

A. Passenger buses under the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission of the state;

B. Public and private school buses;

C. Any vehicle used by a municipality, public agency or public utility while necessarily in use in the construction, installation or repair of any public utility or public way;

D. Emergency vehicles; and

E. Totally unladen panel or pick-up type of commercial vehicles of a rated capacity of less than one and one-half tons when used for the personal transportation of the operator thereof.
