2.12.010 - Authorized to make arrest.

The health officer of the city and his designated subordinates, pursuant to the provisions of Penal Code Section 836.5 of the state, may arrest a person without a warrant whenever he has reasonable cause to believe that the person has committed a misdemeanor in his presence which is a violation of any ordinance, statute or law, the enforcement of which is under the administration of the health officer. Upon making such an arrest, the health officer, or his delegated subordinate, shall release the person arrested pursuant to Penal Code Section 853.6 of the state, the provisions of which are hereby adopted by reference as part of this chapter.
