2.56.010 - Holding of general municipal elections.¶
All general municipal elections in the city shall hereafter be held on the same day as the statewide general election, on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each even-numbered year. (Gov. Code § 36503.5)

2.56.020 - County approval.¶
Following its adoption by the city council, this chapter shall become operative upon its approval by the Santa Cruz County board of supervisors as provided in Government Code Section 36503.5.

2.56.030 - City clerk requirements.¶
The city clerk shall perform the requirements of Government Code Section 36503.5(e).
