2.24.010 - Meeting time and place.

Regular meetings of the city council shall be held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month unless such date be on a holiday, in which event the city council, at its preceding meeting, shall adjourn to a day set certain. Unless otherwise specifically noticed, the time of commencement of regular meetings shall be at six p.m. Regular meetings of the city council shall end not later than eleven p.m.; provided, that any such meeting may be extended beyond eleven p.m. upon a four-fifths vote of all members of the city council or a unanimous vote of the members present if less than all members are present. Unless otherwise specifically noticed, regular meetings shall be held in the City Council Chambers located at City Hall, One Civic Center Drive, Scotts Valley, California.

2.24.020 - Salary.

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 36516 of the California Government Code (as the same may now exist or hereafter be amended), each member of the city council shall receive the maximum monthly salary of four hundred eighty-eight dollars and sixty-seven cents. The city shall also provide medical and health insurance coverage, and pay the cost thereof, for each council member and his or her dependents to the same extent, the same is now or hereafter provided and paid for by the city department heads. For any city council member elected after November 1, 2024, the city shall make medical and health insurance coverage available for each council member and his or her dependents to the same extent with the full cost of the premium to be paid by participating council member. Payment for such medical and health insurance coverage shall be made in accordance with policies established by the city.
