Sec. 90-391. - Commercial vehicle parking prohibited on residential lots.

(a) The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this section, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this subsection, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Commercial vehicle means a vehicle registered with the department of motor vehicles as used for commercial purposes. The term "commercial vehicle" does not include a pickup truck, as defined in this subsection.

Pickup truck means a motor truck with a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating of less than 11,500 pounds, an unladen weight of less than 8,001 pounds, and which is equipped with an open box-type bed not exceeding nine feet in length. The bed of a pickup truck may be covered or equipped with a bed-mounted storage compartment unit commonly called a utility body.

(b) No commercial vehicle which exceeds three-quarter-ton capacity shall be parked or left standing on any residentially zoned lot, except:

(1) When necessary for the purpose of making pickups and deliveries of goods, wares and merchandise from or to the property; or

(2) When such vehicle is parked in connection with and in aid of the performance of a service to or on the property only for such time as is reasonably necessary to complete such service.
