OFFICIAL GRADES

The purpose of this chapter is to establish official grades in the areas of the city hereinafter described for the purpose of providing adequate surface and storm drainage to prevent the flooding of any building built within the area so described. (Prior code § 9.18.561)

When a minimum grade is established in this chapter for a designated area, all buildings and structures to be constructed within said area shall use the minimum grade so specified in lieu of the actual grade of the building site for the purpose of determining the elevation above grade which the structure must be built; provided, however, if the actual grade is higher than the designated minimum grade, the actual grade shall be used for said purposes. The official minimum grade for the Norwood - Pell industrial areas is the elevation of 21.5 feet. Norwood - Pell industrial areas is described as those portions of Lots 21 through 23 and 28 through 34, "Rio Linda Subdivision No. 8," as per map recorded in Book 18 of maps, Map No. 2 and Section 4, "Survey and Subdivision of Rancho Del Paso," as per map filed in book of surveys, Page 94 in the office of the county recorder in the city of Sacramento, county of Sacramento, state of California, described as a whole as follows:

15.88.010 Title.

This chapter shall be known as the grading, erosion, and sediment control ordinance of the city of Sacramento, and shall be referred to herein as the "grading ordinance." (Prior code § 9.31.1501)
