Article 15.16 — NATURAL GAS FACILITIES

§ 15.16.010. Requirements for installation. ¶
A. Natural gas meters and regulators shall be provided with a protective cover approved by the supplying utility and county and securely supported to the ground.
B. All natural gas meters shall be located on the gable end of the structure or building or other protected location as approved by the utility.
C. All natural gas risers shall have a three-inch sleeve installed around the pipe which extends through the asphalt or concrete.

§ 15.16.020. Plot plan. ¶
A. At the time of application by any person for any building permit which involves the installation of a natural gas service line, the applicant shall submit a plot plan in four copies, together with a nonrefundable fee of $30.
B. All copies must carry the stamp of approval of the prospective natural gas supplier.
C. The plot plan shall include, but not be limited to:
The proposed natural gas meter location.
The proposed routing of the natural gas service line to be installed.
Property boundaries.
An outline of all existing/proposed buildings on the lot and a depiction of the ridge line of any building to be supplied with natural gas.
D. The plot plan may be included on the normal site plan, but must contain the stamp of approval of the gas supplier at the time of submission to the building department.
E. The applicant shall also submit evidence that a copy of the plot plan has been sent to the fire protection agency serving such property to serve as a locator map in the event of an emergency.
F. Nothing herein shall be deemed to require issuance of a permit, nor inspection for compliance, by the county.

§ 15.16.030. As-built plan. ¶
Not later than final inspection of the building to be served in the case of a new structure, or not later than 10 calendar days after connecting up an existing structure, the natural gas supplier shall submit to the property owner, serving fire district, and building department, as-built drawings showing the location of the meter and routing of the service line. § 15.16.040. Safety inspections. ¶
A. The natural gas supplier shall follow the inspection and maintenance policy, practices, and procedures as required by Public Utility Commission Order 112-C and Part 192.723.
B. All reports shall be submitted to the PUC as required in General Order 112-C. Copies thereof shall be maintained at the supplier's Lake Tahoe offices and shall be available at any reasonable time for inspection by any fire district and by the county of Placer.

§ 15.16.050. Violation. ¶
It is unlawful for a vendor to provide service to a natural gas customer's connection which does not comply with the provisions of this article. (Prior code § 4.1640)
