§ 13.68.010. Establishment of crosswalks.¶
The public works director shall establish, designate and maintain crosswalks at intersections and other places by appropriate devices, markings or lines upon the surface of the roadway when vehicular and pedestrian traffic movement require the same for the safety of the public. (Prior code § 17-75)
§ 13.68.020. Jaywalking in business district prohibited.¶
No pedestrian shall cross a roadway other than by a crosswalk in any business district. (Prior code § 17-76)
§ 13.68.030. Manner of crossing street.¶
No pedestrian shall cross a roadway at any place other than by a route at right angles to the curb or by the shortest route to the opposite curb, except in a marked crosswalk. (Prior code § 17-77)
§ 13.68.040. Standing or walking in roadway.¶
No person shall stand or walk in any roadway other than in a safety zone or in a crosswalk if such action interferes with the lawful movement of traffic. This section shall not apply to any public officer or employee or any employee of a public utility, when necessarily upon a street in the line of duty.
