5.08.010 - License required.¶
It is unlawful for any person or entity to be engaged in the business of clairvoyance, fortunetelling, psychic, astrologist, palmist and/or claiming to read or foretell the past, present or future within the town limits without first obtaining a town issued business license and paying a license fee in advance and as set by adopted council resolution.

5.08.020 - License application: Filing and processing.¶
An application for the required business license shall be filed with the office of the town planning director. The application and its subsequent related business license shall be processed by the office of the town planning director in accordance with the provisions of this chapter and with applicable processing procedures adopted by the Town of Paradise either by council resolution or by administrative policy order of the town manager.

5.08.030 - Chief of police review of license application.¶
Upon receipt of an application for business license required by this chapter, the town planning director shall forward a copy of the application to the chief of police who, based solely on a review of criminal records maintained by the town police department or by other law enforcement organizations, shall promptly advise the town planning director whether the applicant has been convicted of a criminal act involving fraud, theft, the intentional infliction of bodily injury or other act involving moral turpitude within the preceding ten-year period.

5.08.040 - Action on license application by planning director.¶
Within twelve (12) calendar days following the filing of the business license application required by this chapter, the town planning director shall act on the application either by approving the application and issuing a business license authorizing the applicant to engage in the business of clairvoyance, fortunetelling, psychic, astrologist, etc., within the town, or by denying the application, all in the manner hereafter provided by this chapter and any town adopted and applicable business license application processing procedures.

5.08.050 - Violation—Penalty.¶
It is unlawful for any person or entity to violate or fail to comply with the provisions of this chapter. Such violation shall be punishable as an infraction.
