Sec. 4-7.101. - Scope.¶
For the purposes of this chapter, unless otherwise apparent from the context, certain words and phrases used in this chapter are defined in this article.

Sec. 4-7.102. - Vehicle Code definitions.¶
Whenever any words or phrases used in this chapter are not defined in this article but are defined in the Vehicle Code of the State, such definitions are incorporated in this article as though set forth in this article in full and shall be deemed to apply to such words and phrases used in this chapter as though set forth in this article in full.

Sec. 4-7.103. - Holidays.¶
"Holidays" shall mean and include the following days:
(a) January 1;
(b) February 12;
(c) The third Monday in February;
(d) The last Monday in May;
(e) July 4;
(f) The first Monday in September;
(g) September 9, known as "Admission Day";
(h) The second Monday in October;
(i) The fourth Monday in October;
(j) Thanksgiving Day;
(k) December 25; and
(l) Such other days as the City may duly designate.
If January 1, February 12, July 4, September 9, or December 25 falls upon a Sunday, the Monday following shall be a holiday.

Sec. 4-7.104. - Loading zone.¶
"Loading zone" shall mean the space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers or materials.

Sec. 4-7.105. - Park.¶
"Park" shall mean to stand or leave standing any vehicle, whether occupied or not, other than temporarily, for the purpose of, and while actually engaged in, the loading or unloading of passengers or materials.

Sec. 4-7.106. - Parkway.¶
"Parkway" shall mean that portion of a street other than a roadway or sidewalk.

Sec. 4-7.107. - Passenger loading zone.¶
"Passenger loading zone" shall mean the space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers.

Sec. 4-7.108. - Pedestrian.¶
"Pedestrian" shall mean any person afoot.

Sec. 4-7.109. - Person.¶
"Person" shall mean and include every natural person, firm, copartnership, association, or corporation.

Sec. 4-7.110. - Police officer.¶
"Police officer" shall mean every officer of the Police Department of the City and every person authorized to direct or regulate traffic or to make arrests for violations of traffic regulations.

Sec. 4-7.111. - Stop.¶
"Stop", when required, shall mean the complete cessation of movement.

Sec. 4-7.112. - Stop or stand.¶
"Stop or stand", when prohibited, shall mean any stopping or standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device.
