2.28.010 - Standards for recruitment and training—Adopted.

Pursuant to Section 13522 of Chapter 1 of Title 4, Part 4, of the California Penal Code, the city, while receiving aid from the state pursuant to said Chapter 1, will adhere to the standards for recruitment and training established by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.

2.28.020 - Probationary status.

Section B1004(a) of the Post Administrative Manual of the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training now requires that "every peace officer employed by a department shall be required to serve in a probationary status for not less than 12 months." The city council wishes to comply with the above requirement and to treat all city employees equally and, therefore, all city employees hired after the effective date of the ordinance codified in this section shall be required to serve in a probationary status for twelve months.
