2-4 Created; Composition

There is created a department of public works which shall combine and consist of departments as follows; whether such departments be implied or explicit under the City Charter or ordinances of the city;

  1. Public utilities department.
    1. Street department.
    2. Engineering department.
    3. General maintenance.
    4. Building and safety (Ord. No. 397 N.S.)

2-5 Director Of Public Works

The public works department shall be managed and controlled by a director of public works who shall report to and be supervised by the city manager, but subject to City Charter provisions and restrictions as regards the Charter position of director of public utilities. (Ord. No. 397 N.S.)

2-6 Building Inspector--Issuance Of Building Permits

The building inspector shall receive all applications for building permits and shall issue permits for building and construction in the manner as provided by this code and any other laws and ordinances of the city. (Ord. No. 347 N.S.)

2-7 Same--Enforcement Of Building Regulations

The building inspector shall inspect and supervise and regulate all building and construction and shall be responsible for the administration and enforcement of this code and any other laws and ordinances relating to the subject of building and construction. (Ord. No. 347 N.S.)
