12.08.240 - Purpose.¶
The purpose of this article is to promote the public peace, health, safety and general welfare of persons in the town by establishing regulations and rules for the use of the Lamorinda Skate Park.

12.08.250 - Definitions.¶
The definitions in this article shall govern the construction of this article unless the context otherwise requires:
"Bicycle" means all non-motorized, two-wheeled bicycles.
"Director" means Moraga's park and recreation director.
"Scooter" means all manually or motorized propelled, two-wheeled scooter.
"Skateboard" means a wheeled object, coaster, toy, conveyance, or similar device used for transportation or sport, which is propelled by human power, and which is not classified as a bicycle or scooter.
"Sports equipment" means equipment utilized for athletic and/or recreational purposes, including but not limited to bicycles, mopeds, motorized cycles, skateboards, in-line skates, roller skates, shoe skates, scooters (both motorized and manually propelled), luge skates, ramps, rails, jumps and similar objects utilized for athletic stunts or tricks, footballs, baseballs, basketballs, soccer balls and frisbees.

12.08.260 - Hours of operation.¶
The hours of operation of the Lamorinda Skate Park shall be from nine a.m. to dusk, with the exception of posted hours for maintenance or any other purpose determined by the director.

12.08.270 - Use regulations—Prohibited activities.¶
In addition to the general regulations set forth in this chapter, the following regulations pertain to the Lamorinda Skate Park:
A. Except for skateboards, in-line skates and rollers skates, no person shall use, ride or bring sports equipment of any kind or nature in or into the Lamorinda Skate Park;
B. Any person riding a skateboard or wearing in-line skates or roller skates at the Lamorinda Skate Park must wear a helmet, elbow pads and knee pads at all times;
C. No person under the age of eight years old shall be permitted in the Lamorinda Skate Park unless accompanied by an adult;
D. No portion of the Lamorinda Skate Park may be modified, altered or added in any manner without the written permission of the director;
E. No person shall use or wear an audio headset on the concrete skating area of the Lamorinda Skate Park;
F. No person shall play amplified music in the Lamorinda Skate Park;
G. No person other than authorized town employees and/or their agents or representatives shall enter or in any manner utilize the premises of the Lamorinda Skate Park except during those hours when the Lamorinda Skate Park is open for public use;
H. No food, beverages, bottles (whether plastic or glass) or cans shall be permitted on the concrete skating surface of the Lamorinda Skate Park;
I. No person shall deface, including marking with graffiti or tagging, the Lamorinda Skate Park in any manner;
J. No person shall engage in any behavior that is physically destructive to the Lamorinda Skate Park, other than normal wear and tear, physically threatening to others, or which interferes with any other person's use and enjoyment of the Lamorinda Skate Park;
K. No knives or weapons of any nature shall be permitted in the Lamorinda Skate Park; and
L. The director is authorized to post additional rules as necessary for the operation of the Lamorinda Skate Park, the violation of which shall be punishable pursuant to this chapter.

12.08.280 - Penalty for three or more infractions.¶
Any person cited and convicted of three or more infractions of this article shall be barred for up to one year from the use of or entrance to the Lamorinda Skate Park.
