12.08.040 - Camping.

No person may camp within town parklands after posted hours of operation. However a camp may be maintained in designated areas if a valid permit is obtained from the town.

12.08.050 - Firearms and dangerous weapons.

A. Restrictions. Except as provided in subsection B of this section, no person shall have in his or her possession within town parklands, and no person shall fire or discharge or cause to be fired or discharged across, in or into any portion of town parklands a gun or firearm, spear, bow and arrow, cross-bow, slingshot, air or gas weapon, or other dangerous weapon.

B. Exceptions. Subsection A of this section does not apply to the use of a bow and arrow in areas designated specifically for that activity.

12.08.060 - Fires.

No person may build, light or maintain an open or outdoor fire except in areas where facilities are provided and designated for this purpose, unless prior written permission is obtained. Upon a finding of extreme fire hazard, no person may smoke in an area other than that designated for smoking.

12.08.070 - Metal detectors.

No person may use a metal detector or similar device except with special permission.

12.08.080 - Assembly.

It is unlawful for a person or group to conduct a group meeting, rally or similar gathering without first obtaining a permit from the town for the use of the park area or facility involved.

The town shall grant a permit unless it finds that the time, place or size of the meeting may unreasonably interfere with the normal use or operation of the area or facility requested. In this latter event, the town shall, to the extent reasonably possible, assist the applicant in locating a suitable alternative area or facility within the town parklands or indicate the circumstances under which a modified meeting could be permitted.

12.08.090 - Miscellaneous dangerous activities.

Except in areas specifically designated and set aside for such activities, no person may engage in any of the following activities:

A. Use or possess fireworks of any kind;

B. Drive, chip or in any manner play or practice golf or hit golf balls;

C. Operate self-propelled model airplanes, boats, automobiles or other model craft of any kind or description;

D. Throw, release or discharge missiles, rockets or similar projectiles;

E. Hang-glide or parachute;

F. Operate a skateboard except on bike trails;

G. Engage in any activity or operate any device recklessly or negligently so as to endanger the life, limb or property of any person; or

H. Operate a non-motorized bicycle on any trail in the Mulholland Open Space Preserve, except paved or graded roads.

12.08.100 - Alcoholic beverages.

No person may serve, possess or consume alcoholic beverages, except for beer or wine, within town parklands. Notwithstanding the foregoing, no alcoholic beverages of any kind may be served, possessed or consumed in parking lots or roadways of town parklands or in any portion of the Mulholland Open Space Preserve or the Lamorinda Skate Park.

12.08.110 - Use of fee facilities.

No person other than one acting under permission of the town may use, occupy or otherwise remain in a building, structure, facility, parking area, picnic area, campsite or other area within town parklands for which a fee is charged and a permit required unless that person has paid the required fee and possesses a valid permit.
