Montebello Municipal Code Ch. 15.06 California Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings

Subject to certain changes and amendments hereinafter set forth in this chapter, the city council does adopt, as the housing regulation for the city, the "Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1997 Edition," copyrighted and adopted by the International Conference of Building Officials, which provides equitable remedies consistent with other laws for the repair, vacation, or demolition of dangerous buildings. One copy of the code is on file in the office of the city clerk for public inspection, and the same is made a part hereof as though fully set forth in this chapter.

The building division is designated and authorized to enforce the regulations of this chapter. The code enforcement division is authorized to enforce the regulations of this chapter, subject to the approval of the building division.

Section 205.1 of the Uniform for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings Code is adopted by reference to read as follows:

In order to determine the suitability of alternate materials and types of construction, and to provide reasonable interpretation of provisions of this code, the city council shall act as the board of appeals as referred to in this code.
