10.80.010 - Boat safety officers—Appointment.¶
The sheriff shall from time to time designate one or more officers or employees of the sheriff's department as boating safety officers. When acting in the capacity of boating safety officer, the persons so designated shall have powers of arrest as set forth in Section 836.5(a) of the Penal Code.

10.80.020 - Boat safety officers—Duties.¶
Boating safety officers shall enforce all laws and ordinances of the state of California, the county of Mono, and if authorized by appropriate authority, the town of Mammoth Lakes, relating to boating and boating safety.

10.80.030 - Boat safety officers—Arrest authority—Notice to appear.¶
In any case in which a person is arrested pursuant to the authority vested in a boating safety officer, and the person arrested does not demand to be taken before a magistrate, the boating safety officer shall prepare a written notice to appear and release the person on his promise to appear, as prescribed by Chapter 5C (commencing with Section 853.6) of Part 2, Title 3 of the Penal Code relating to criminal procedure. The provisions of that chapter shall thereafter apply with reference to any proceeding based upon the issuance of a written notice to appear pursuant to this authority.

10.80.040 - Boat safety officers—Training.¶
Boating safety officers shall have such training, and shall carry such arms, as are authorized or designated by the sheriff, and as otherwise may be prescribed and are not prohibited by law.
