10.49.010 - Violation—Penalty.

A. It is unlawful for any person to operate, drive or park any vehicle, other than county-owned park vehicles or maintenance equipment, whether motorized or nonmotorized, on any playing field or other nonpaved area not intended for such use of any county park or recreation facility.

B. It is unlawful for any person to ride or walk any horse on any playing field or other nonpaved area of any county park or recreation facility.

C. Violation of any provision of this section may be prosecuted as either a misdemeanor punishable by up to a five hundred dollar fine and/or six months in the county jail, or as an infraction punishable by a fine not to exceed seventy-five dollars. If prosecuted as a misdemeanor, the fine imposed for violation of this section shall be not less than one hundred dollars.

D. Upon conviction of any offense under this section, the court shall require the convicted person, as part of any imposition of sentence, to make full restitution to the county of Mono of the cost of repair or replacement of county property or facilities made necessary due to damage to such property or facilities, caused by that person's violation of this section.
