10.44.010 - Definitions.

As used in this chapter:

A. "Fireman" means those persons duly authorized by state, county or district entities to engage in the training, vocation or avocation of fighting fires of any kind, type or nature;

B. "Hydrant" includes any device for the control of water such as, but not limited to, stopcock, valve, gate or other device established for the purpose of the delivery of water supply for fire suppression purposes;

C. "Person" means any individual, firm, partnership, corporation or other formal or informal association of individuals.

10.44.020 - Prohibition.

No person shall touch, contact, operate, turn off or on or obstruct the free access to any fire hydrant, as that term is used in this chapter, without a written permit from the appropriate authority having possession, control or ownership of the hydrant.

10.44.030 - Enforcement.

The provisions of this chapter shall be enforced by any law enforcement officer, peace officer, special peace officer, state or district fire chief or other duly authorized fire enforcement individual.
