Maywood Municipal Code Ch. 17 Private Patrol and Night Watchmen Services

For the purposes of this chapter, "private patrol and watchmen service" shall mean any person who engages in or offers to engage in the business of patrolling, guarding, watching, or otherwise protecting the premises, stores, buildings, or property of persons within the City for compensation, either by contract or for hire.

Every person seeking to do business as a private patrol or night watchman service shall first obtain a permit so to do from the Chief of Police.

Such service shall pay an annual license fee of Fifty and no/100ths ($50.00) Dollars to the City Clerk.

Such service shall file a corporate surety bond in the penal sum of One Thousand and no/100ths ($1,000.00) Dollars for the indemnification of any person who may sustain a loss by reason of the negligence or malfeasance of any person engaged in such business or of its employees.

All persons engaged in such services and their employees shall register, furnish a recent photograph of themselves, and have their fingerprints taken at the office of the Chief of Police.

All persons engaged in such services and their employees shall report to the Police Department when they come on duty and go off duty each day or night.
