9.24.010 Prohibition Of Weapons

It shall be unlawful for any person to carry or wear in plain view, after a request to remove, any of the weapons listed in section 9.24.020 on the grounds of John C. Fremont Healthcare District described in section 9.24.040.

For purposes of this chapter, the following description of weapons shall apply:

9.24.030 Definition Of Daggers, Dirks, And Knives

“Daggers, dirks, and knives” shall include any spring-blade, switch-blade, or snap-blade knife; any lockingblade knife, any knife or device where any blade of which is automatically released by a spring mechanism or other mechanical device; any knife-like instrument with a fixed blade of any length; a knife or other

instrument with or without a handguard that is capable of ready use as a stabbing weapon that may inflict great bodily injury or death.

No person shall carry or wear in plain view those weapons listed in Section 9.24.020 in the John C. Fremont Healthcare District described as follows:

That certain portion of Section 14, Township 5 South, Range 18 East, M.D.B.&M. described as follows: Commencing at a point for Corner No. 1 of this tract, at a point S. 71° 30’ E. 502.22 feet from the quarter section corner common to Sections 14 and 15; thence N. 45° 45’ W. 1420.48 feet to a point which is the northwest corner of the Robert Mueller Tract, as conveyed by Mariposa Commercial and Mining Company by deed dated March 1, 1943, as appears of records in maps and plats of said County; thence N. 89° 35’ E. 281.20 feet to a point on the northeasterly of said survey; thence N. 80° 46’ E. 81.70 feet to a point; thence S. 86° 18’ E. 360.60 feet to a point; thence N. 83° 51’ E. 290.40 feet to a point; thence S. 54° 51’ E. 179.70 feet to a point; thence N. 30° 37’ E. 87.70 feet to a point; thence S. 70° 48’ E. 152.10 feet to a point; thence S. 18° 21’ E. 287.01 feet to a point; thence S. 21° 44’ E. 167.25 feet to a point; thence S. 2° 18’ E. 229.39 feet to a point; thence S. 69° 29’ W. 551.12 feet to the point of beginning containing 19.30 acres, more or less, according to said survey.

This chapter shall not apply to law enforcement officers, shall not apply to hospital employees who utilize a knife as a tool, and shall not prohibit individuals from carrying a tear gas weapon used solely for self-defense purposes pursuant to California Penal Code § 12403.7.

Violation of this chapter shall constitute a misdemeanor and shall be punishable pursuant to Chapter 1.20 hereof.
