Chapter 17.34 — O—OPEN SPACE DISTRICT

§ 17.34.010. Purpose. ¶
The O district is designed to preserve a rural and natural atmosphere and to preserve open space in an urban area to hold future generations. Said open space to preserve the environment. (Ord. 354 § 4.33.1, 1973)
§ 17.34.020. Uses permitted. ¶
The following uses are permitted:
(1) Crop and tree farming;
(2) Public parks and open space for passive and active use;
(3) Scenic ways and easements. (Ord. 354 § 4.33.2, 1973)
§ 17.34.030. Uses permitted subject to obtaining permit. ¶
Uses subject to permits are as follows:
(1) Golf course;
(2) Private parks, nonprofit;
(3) Private recreation facilities which are a part of any urban development and which are permanently set aside as open space or recreation facilities;
(4) Riding and hiking trails;
(5) Structures accessory to a permitted use which are not more than two stories, nor more than thirty feet in height;
(6) Any construction, clearing of vegetation or other use that might tend to defeat the purpose of this district;
(7) Any other use which the planning commission finds could be compatible in the area. (Ord. 354 § 4.33.3, 1973; Ord. 429 § 1, 1980)
§ 17.34.040. Development standards. ¶
The following standards shall apply:
(1) Golf courses, five acres;
(2) Crop and tree farming, one acre;
(3) Parking, all yards, height, building coverage, design and location shall be as specified in the use permit.
