10.36.010 - Legality of possession.

It is unlawful for any person or the agent of any person to transport or offer to transport upon any public thoroughfare within the county in or upon any vehicle, any hay unless the person operating such vehicle has in his possession documentary evidence that he is in the legal possession of the same or that he has grown the same upon his premises.

10.36.020 - Enforcement.

It is the duty of the sheriff of the county, and all constables and peace officers thereof, to enforce the provisions of this chapter, and they shall have the power to stop any vehicle in or upon which there is being transported hay, to determine whether the provisions of this chapter have been complied with, and for that purpose examine all documentary evidence in possession of the operator or any passenger of such vehicle showing, or tending to show, the operator is in legal possession of such hay; and it is unlawful for the operator or any passenger of such vehicle to refuse to deliver, upon request of an officer authorized to stop such vehicle for inspection, all documentary evidence in his possession showing or tending to show whether the operator is in legal possession of the hay in or upon such vehicle.

10.36.030 - Violation—Penalty.

Any person who violates any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor.
