Chapter 2.02 — CITY COUNCIL

The Grass Valley City Charter, Article VI, Section 9 provides that the city council may determine the annual compensation of the mayor, vice mayor and councilmembers by ordinance. Compensation may not exceed the maximum amounts permitted by the applicable provisions of the California Government Code relating to compensation of councilmembers in general law cities of comparable size.

A.

The mayor shall receive the sum of six hundred dollars each month as compensation for his or her services.

B.

In addition to the monthly compensation set forth in subsection A of this section the mayor shall receive the actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of the duties as mayor.

A.

Members of the city council shall receive the sum of five hundred fifty dollars each month as compensation for their services as councilmembers.

B.

In addition to the monthly compensation set forth in subsection A of this section members of the city council shall receive their actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.
