1.16.010 - Purpose.

The purpose of this chapter is to adopt the official city seal.

1.16.020 - Description.

The common seal shall be of not less than one and three-fourths inches in diameter with the following inscription on it at the edge of the stamping and embossing part of it:

"City of Grass Valley" and "Nevada County, Calif." between two stars; within which and occupying the center of the circle is a picture depicting a rustic log cabin and in the foreground a team of horses pulling a wagon with a man driving same. Within the inner circle at the top of the circle is noted: "Inc'd March 13, A.D. 1893" similar to the following:

1.16.030 - Validation of previous acts.

All acts performed prior to the codification of the ordinance in this section requiring the use of the city seal, and all papers sealed with the city seal since its first adoption, are declared to be due and legal acts on papers of the city, and all acts performed prior to the codification of the ordinance in this section and all proceedings and all papers impressed with the city seal since that date are validated and declared legal.

1.16.040 - Custodian of city seal.

The custodian of the city seal and any city emblems depicting the city seal and the authorization for the use of the city seal or any such emblem is the duty and responsibility of the city clerk.
