15.11.010 - Adoption.¶
Except as provided in this Chapter, the 2025 California Wildland-Urban Interface Code, based on the 2024 International Wildland-Urban Interface Code and published by the International Code Council, is hereby adopted by reference and shall constitute the Wildland-Urban Interface Code of the City. This Code shall apply to the regulation of new buildings and additions constructed in fire hazard severity zones, as identified by the State Fire Marshal's Severity Hazard Zone Maps. The intent of the Wildland-Urban Interface Code is to construct new buildings and additions that are located in fire zones with fire resistant materials, including but not limited to, noncombustible siding and overhangs, tempered or 20-minute rated glazing (windows), ember resistive attic, and crawl space vents; provide defensible spaces around the structure; and provide additional measures to protect structures against fires. A copy of all the adopted codes and standards are on file in the City's Building Department and are available for public inspection.
