SEC. 9-301. - DEFINITION.¶
For the purpose of this article, the term "public automobile parking lots" shall mean and include any lot, parcel of land or premises where motor vehicles are stored, kept, or parked for the public in the open air, whether a charge be made for such parking or not.

SEC. 9-302. - PARKING UPON PUBLIC PLACES.¶
No person operating, managing, conducting or maintaining any public automobile parking lot or a public garage, or any person employed as an attendant at or in any public automobile parking lot or public garage, shall park, stand, or store any motor vehicle parked or stored therein, on, upon or across any public street, public sidewalk, public alley, or other public place.

SEC. 9-303. - PENALTY FOR VIOLATION.¶
Violation of Section 9-302 is an infraction.

SEC. 9-304. - CLOSING SIGNS.¶
At each entrance and exit to a public automobile parking lot there shall be installed and maintained signs plainly visible from both sides, with letters not less than six inches high stating the time that such public automobile parking lot closes.

SEC. 9-305. - REPORTS.¶
(a) Whenever any motor vehicle has been stored on a public automobile parking lot for a continuous period of more than forty-eight hours, said keeper shall thereupon report the presence of such motor vehicle to the Fresno Police Department giving a brief description of the vehicle, including the name or make, the motor or other number of the vehicle, and the license number shown by the license plates or registration card if either of the latter is attached to the vehicle.
(b) Any person owning, conducting, managing or operating any building, place or premises other than a private garage, wherein any motor vehicle is parked or stored by or for the public, shall make a written report to the Chief of Police of each motor vehicle which is not the property of such person and which shall have been parked or stored in such building, place or premises for a period of seventy-two hours continuously. Such written report shall be filed with the police department, within twenty-four hours from and after the expiration of said seventy-two hour period, and shall contain:
(1) The name of the person making such report;
(2) The address of the building, place or premises where such motor vehicle shall have been parked or stored for such seventy-two hour period;
(3) The name and address of the registered owner of such motor vehicle as shown on the certificate of registration issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles of the State of California, or if there be no such certificate or registration in or on such motor vehicle, such fact shall be stated;
(4) A brief description of such motor vehicle, including the name and make, the motor number and license number thereof as shown by the number plates thereon, together with the name of the state issuing such license plates. (Orig. Ord. 3220 and 4566).
