Sec. 8.12.010. - Definitions.¶
All words and terms describing pests in this chapter shall have the respective meanings ascribed to them in the Food and Agricultural Code, and shall have the same scope and effect that those same words and terms have where used in the Food and Agricultural Code.
State Law reference— "Pest means any of the following pests that are, or are likely to become, dangerous or detrimental to the agricultural or nonagricultural environment of the State (1) Any insect, nematode, or weed, (2) Any form of terrestrial, aquatic, or aerial plant, virus, fungus, bacteria, or other microorganism, except viruses, fungi, bacteria, or other microorganisms on, or in, a living human or any other living animal," Food and Agricultural Code § 578.
Sec. 8.12.020. - Penalty for violation.¶
Each violation of this chapter shall be punishable according to the general penalties described in Chapter 1.24.
