6.14.010 - Adoption of county ordinance.

There is adopted as the solid waste disposal ordinance of the city of Duarte, except as it is amended in this chapter, Ordinance 11,886 of the county of Los Angeles, entitled, "An ordinance establishing the Solid Waste Ordinance of the County of Los Angeles and amending the Administrative Code and Business License Ordinance relating to the regulation of solid waste handling and disposal."

Three copies of Ordinance 11,886 of the county of Los Angeles have been deposited with the city clerk of Duarte and shall be at all times maintained by the city clerk for use and examination by the public.

6.14.020 - Reference inclusiveness.

Whenever in Ordinance 11,886 of the county of Los Angeles reference is made to the unincorporated area of the county of Los Angeles, such area shall be deemed to include in its true geographical location the area of the city of Duarte.

6.14.030 - Definitions.

Whenever any of the following names are used in Ordinance 11,886 of the county of Los Angeles, each such name or term shall be deemed and construed to have the meaning ascribed to it in this section as follows:

"BOARD" or "BOARD OF SUPERVISORS" means the city council.

"COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES" means the city of Duarte, except in such instances where the county of Los Angeles is a correct notation due to circumstances.

"ORDINANCE" means an ordinance of the city of Duarte, except in such instances where the reference is to a stated ordinance of the county of Los Angeles.

"TREASURER-TAX COLLECTOR" means the city finance director.

6.14.040 - Article VII repealed.

Article VII of Ordinance 11,886 of the county of Los Angeles is repealed, and is not adopted by this chapter.

6.14.050 - City ordinances and contracts prevail.

In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the provisions of Ordinance 11,886 of the county of Los Angeles and any ordinance or contract of the city of Duarte which has been approved by the city council, the provisions of said city ordinance or contract shall prevail.
