6.12.010 - Adoption of county ordinance.¶
There is adopted, by reference, as a sanitary sewer and industrial waste ordinance of the city of Duarte, except as it is amended, as of the effective date of the ordinance codified in this section, Los Angeles County Code, Title 20, Utilities, Division 2, Sanitary Sewers and Industrial Waste, as amended.
Three copies of Los Angeles County Code, Title 20, Utilities, Division 2, have been deposited with the city clerk and shall be at all times maintained by the city clerk for use and examination by the public.

6.12.020 - Reference inclusiveness.¶
Whenever in Los Angeles County Code, Title 20, Utilities, Division 2, reference is made to the unincorporated area of the county of Los Angeles, such area shall be deemed to include in its true geographical location the area of the city of Duarte.

6.12.030 - Definitions.¶
Whenever any of the following names or terms are used in Los Angeles County Code, Title 20, Utilities, Division 2, each such name or term shall be deemed and construed to have the meaning ascribed to it in this section as follows:
"Board" means the city council.
"County engineer" means the city engineer.
"County health officer" means the city health officer.
"County of Los Angeles" means the city of Duarte except in such instances where the county of Los Angeles is a correct notation due to circumstances.
"County sewer maintenance district" means the county sewer maintenance district except in the instance where the territory concerned either is not within or has been withdrawn from a county sewer maintenance district. In any such instance "county sewer maintenance district" means the city of Duarte.
"Ordinance" means an ordinance of the city of Duarte except in such instances where the reference is to a stated ordinance of the county of Los Angeles.
"Public sewer" means all sanitary sewers and appurtenances thereto, lying with streets or easements dedicated to the city, which are under the sole jurisdiction of the city.
"Trunk sewer" means a sewer under the jurisdiction of public entity other than the city of Duarte.

6.12.040 - Authority delegated to building official.¶
Wherever in Los Angeles County Code, Title 20, Utilities, Division 2, a duty is imposed on the city engineer which has been otherwise delegated by the city to the city building official, then it shall be the building official's responsibility to enforce such section.

6.12.050 - Section 20.28.050 amended—Construction reimbursement.¶
Section 20.28.050 of Los Angeles County Code, Title 20, Utilities, Division 2, is amended to read as follows:
"The City Engineer may recommend that the Council approve an agreement to reimburse or agree to reimburse a subdivider, school district, an improvement district formed under special assessment procedures, or person for the cost of constructing sanitary sewers for public use where such sewers can or will be used by areas outside of the proposed development; and to establish a reimbursement district and collection rates as described in the agreement under the provisions of this ordinance."

6.12.060 - Section 20.32.140 repealed.¶
Section 20.32.140 of Los Angeles County Code, Title 20, Utilities, Division 2, is repealed.

6.12.070 - Section 20.32.150 amended—Connection charge.¶
Section 20.32.150 of Los Angeles County Code, Title 20, Utilities, Division 2, is amended to read as follows:
"In the event the City Engineer determines that the property described in the application for a permit is included within a sewer reimbursement district, which has been formed by the Council in accordance with Section 20.28.050, the charge for connecting to the public sewer shall be as set forth in the agreement."

6.12.080 - Section 20.32.280 amended—Deposition of monies.¶
Section 20.32.280 of Los Angeles County Code, Title 20, Utilities, Division 2, is amended by adding the following paragraph:
"All monies collected under this Section for sewer maintenance are to be submitted directly to the County Sewer Maintenance District for inclusion in the Maintenance District's funds."

6.12.090 - Section 20.32.290 repealed.¶
Section 20.32.290 of Los Angeles County Code, Title 20, Utilities, Division 2, is hereby repealed.

6.12.100 - Section 20.32.300 amended—Deposit with county treasurer.¶
Section 20.32.300 of Los Angeles County Code, Title 20, Utilities, Division 2, is amended to read as follows:
"Except as otherwise provided in this ordinance, all money received under Section 20.32.200 shall be deposited with the County Treasurer and credited to the Special Sewer Maintenance Fund."

6.12.110 - Section 20.32.320 amended—Treasurer's record.¶
Section 20.32.320 of Los Angeles County Code, Title 20, Utilities, Division 2, is amended to read as follows:
"The City Treasurer shall keep a permanent record of all applications and accurate account of all payments received under Sections 20.32.130 and 20.32.150."

6.12.120 - Section 20.32.690 amended—Damaged public sewer.¶
Section 20.32.690 of Los Angeles County Code, Title 20, Utilities, Division 2, is amended by adding the following paragraph:
"In the event the damaged public sewer is not in a sewer maintenance district, the violator shall reimburse the City within thirty (30) days after the City Engineer shall render an invoice for the same. The amount when paid shall be deposited in the City Treasury."

6.12.130 - Section 20.36.230 amended—Industrial waste disposal permit application fee schedule.¶
The industrial waste disposal permit application fee schedule is amended by increasing the fees to two times the amount set forth in Section 20.36.230 of Los Angeles County Code, Title 20.

6.12.140 - Section 20.36.250 amended—Annual inspection fee schedule and billing.¶
Annual inspection fee schedule and billing is amended to increase the fees to two times the amount set forth in Section 20.36.250 of Los Angeles County Code, Title 20.

6.12.150 - Section 20.36.440 amended—Uncontaminated cooling water.¶
Section 20.36.440 of Los Angeles County Code, Title 20, Utilities, Division 2, is amended to read as follows:
"No uncontaminated cooling water shall be discharged into a drainage system connected with a public sanitary sewer except by written permission from the City Engineer."

6.12.160 - Section 20.36.245 amended—Plan review fee schedule.¶
Plan review fee schedule is amended to increase the fees to two times the amount set forth in Section 20.36.245 of Los Angeles County Code, Title 20.
